How to connect phone GPRS to Computer or laptop through Bluetooth

Steps:

1) You will need gprs enabled handset with Bluetooth modem facility; good news is that a large number of handsets models have this.

2) A USB Bluetooth dongle or inbuilt Bluetooth function in your laptop is required.

3) Go to your phones GPRS/Connection settings and set up the default APN (access point name) as provided by you network provider. You can also get this from your phones gprs settings received from operator.

3) enable/insert Bluetooth in your computer.

4) Pair your phone with computer and authenticate it (can be done by searching Bluetooth device and setting as authorized in your phone, this is required in order to establish connection).

4) Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center in your computer and select option Setup connection or network

5) Choose set up a dial up connection

6) Choose standard modem over Bluetooth

7) Provide dial up number as *99***1# or *99# whichever works as 99% times this is same (if not get it from your operator) and provide username and password if any (some network providers require), otherwise leave it blank.

8) give it a name as you like and press connect button. Make sure you have turned on the Bluetooth and device it is discoverable. Now you should be seeing connection in progress window and in a few seconds you should be connected to the net.

9) If proxy needs to be set in order to connect to the internet, you can do so in your browser.
